Growing Together
An attachment-based parenting app built around temperament — the inborn traits that shape how your child experiences the world, and how they fit with the people raising them.
Start with who your child is
Most parenting advice answers one question: what should I do? Growing Together starts a step earlier. Who is this particular child, and how does the way they are built fit with the way you are built?
Temperament is the set of inborn traits that shape how a child takes in the world — how fast they react, how much noise and change they can hold, how long it takes them to come back down. It is not a phase and not something a parent corrects. It is the material you are working with. Knowing it is what tells you which advice applies to your family and which was written about somebody else's child.
What is in it
A temperament assessment for your child, and for you
Both halves matter. Friction between a parent and a child is often less about either one of them than about the fit between two different temperaments meeting in the same house.
Developmental milestones, birth through 18
A reference for what tends to be true at each stage, so that you have something to measure against instead of guessing. It runs the whole way through adolescence rather than stopping when the toddler years end.
Personalized parenting plans
Built from the assessments rather than from a generic age bracket — approaches suited to this child and this parent.
The Growing Moments journal
A place to record what happened and what worked. Patterns in your own family are easier to see written down than remembered.
A family activity library
Curated things to actually do together, for when you know what you are aiming at but not what to do on a Saturday.
AI-assisted coaching
Ask a question and get an answer that stays inside the same framework as the rest of the app, rather than whatever a search turns up at eleven at night. It is educational coaching, not therapy, and not a substitute for talking to someone who knows your family.
Where it comes from
Growing Together was built by Dan Bayly, PhD, LCPC, a licensed counselor and the Clinical Director of Paradise Creek Counseling and Consulting.
Its framework draws on decades of research in child development and family systems: attachment theory from John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth, interpersonal neurobiology from Dan Siegel, developmental trauma work from Bruce Perry, and relationship research from John Gottman.
It is not a collection of tips. It is for parents who want to understand their child at a deeper level, and want that understanding to shape how they show up on an ordinary day.
